Mobile phone tower blown up in Baghlan

Pul-i-Khumri(PAN): Suspected Taliban militants blew up a mobile phone tower in the Doshi district of northern Baghlan province on Sunday, officials said.
The incident happened in the Gajiha village and the culprits escaped after destroying the MTN mobile company's tower, the district chief, Muhammad Khan, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

He said the tower was situated away from the district centre and it was impossible for police to provide 24 hours security for the installation
Baghlan deputy police chief, Col. Sayed Zamanuddin, confirmed the incident. He said antennas of some mobile communication companies were installed in remote areas.
A caller, Mubariz, introducing himself as Taliban spokesman in the Baghlan, said they destroyed the tower after the company refused to accept their orders. He said they had told the company not to continue providing its services in the area beyond 6pm to 6am.
He warned other companies of similar attacks on their installations if they disobeyed their orders.
