Tere bin Laden

TERE BIN LADEN, the breakout comedy hit of 2010 is making its presence felt in the United States of America! After running to packed houses in India for more than seven weeks, this politically incorrect satire from Walkwater Media is set to gather eyeballs in the mainstream American space with word that it has been invited as the opening film at the Friars Club Comedy Film Festival in New York.
The Friars Club is something of an institution since its founding in 1904, and its membership has included entertainment icons from the Marx Brothers, Frank Sinatra and Lucille Ball to Billy Crystal and Jerry Seinfeld. The club is famous for its annual 'roasts' of iconic celebrities. This year Samuel Jackson will 'roast' Quentin Tarantino at the festival. In addition, a lifetime achievement award will be presented to Jerry Lewis.

The Friars Club (formerly the Press Agents' Association) is a private club in New York City, famous for its risqué celebrity roasts. Founded in 1904, its motto is Prae Omnia Fraternitas, which is Latin for "Before all, brotherhood." It is located at 57 Friars Way (East 55th Street) in a building it calls the Monastery.
Their annual film festival boasts of the funniest films from Sundance and other festivals. It is an honour that an Indian comedy will open the festival this year and it is a rare achievement for Indian cinema in general. With all eyes on the opening film, the press turnout is expected to be huge. Both, director Abhishek Sharma and star Ali Zafar will attend the event. With support from the members of the iconic Friars Comedy Club who knows where TERE BIN LADEN will go next!
